It’s a new year and everyone seems to be gaining weight with all the high cholesterol meals we all shared this Holiday season. Something we all can relate to, right? The big thing that’s usually on everyone’s mind this time of year is looking for ways to make ourselves a lot healthier.  If you ask me what would be one of the best ways to end this year right and start a new and healthy year on the “right foot”, I’d suggest finding ways to increase your good cholesterol levels or HDL (high density lipoprotein), also called the good cholesterol.

Achieving a healthy HDL cholesterol Level is not really that easy and it may include sacrifices on your part. You may need to lose some weight, avoiding smoke (tobacco), and as much as possible, start getting at least 20 minutes of exercise everyday. Think about it. 20 minutes isn’t that much actually – especially considering the fact that it lowers the risk of getting a heart attack and stroke. And if you really come to think of it, it actually is a really good New Years resolution.
